Description
30" x 15" x 15". The wooden-framed store has
natural finish on the front and interior, and
painted wood grain on the sides and exterior.
There are two removable shop windows at the front
with stenciled wooden trim that match the counter
trim and unusually-patterned floor. The back wall
is fitted from side-to-side with display niches
and spice drawers below a railed mezzanine which
is accessed by the stairway at the right side
which has matching railing to that of the
mezzanine. The spice drawers have a natural finish
that contrasts with the dark-stained framework and
the porcelain labels with black lettering in old
Germanic script, and there is a nice accent with
the original green painted wall in the mezzanine
area. There is an antique wooden-scale with brass
plates and original weights,store-keeper's desk
with telephone,glass-front display case of bakery
goods, crates of food and glass bottles, and other
accessories. Excellent condition,very fine
finishes are preserved throughout. Germany,circa
1910,the store is stamped with the logo (horse
image on letter G) of Carl Gross. An exceptionally
well-preserved store with many deluxe features.
