Each is all-wooden, with painted features depicting the comic strip characters, including Barney Google with large googly eyes, long nose, black wooden top hat, jointed arms and legs, wearing original costume; and Spark Plug with painted harness, yellow felt blanket marked "Spark Plug". Condition: generally excellent, light dustiness. Marks: copr. 1922 King Features Syndicate Inc. Pat. Applied For. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1922. Value Points: great pair of early 1900s popular culture figures, original costumes, great depictions. Included is early 1924 comic strip book "Barney Google and Spark Plug" by Bille DeBeck, Cupples and Leon Company; and 1932 sheet music "Barney Google Fox Tros" with colorful cover of the pair.
