doll depicting a Chinese wise man has sculpted
yellow hat with black brim,amber-tinted
complexion,painted features,sculpted Fu
Manchu-style moustache,jointed arms and legs,and
is wearing his original silk costume. The doll is
presented in well-fitted presentation gift box
with miniature Chinese ceramic
accessories,gilt-paper edging and color lithograph
on the lid depicting the same figure with playful
children at his feet. Condition: generally
excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1890,for the
French market. Value Points: delightful and
beautifully-presented rare all-bisque doll with
original costume.
