5" (13 cm.) Paper mache head with slender face and elongated throat,black painted pate,painted facial features,wooden body with shapely torso,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: early 19th-century,the head appears as one-piece with the torso so possibly it is wood rather than paper mache. Value Points: wonderful early miniature doll with fully-articulated wooden body and appealing expression on the original complexion and features,wearing original black silk gown,old undergarments.
