14" (36 cm.) One-piece carved wooden head and torso with heart-shaped face,elongated throat,and modeled bosom,chip-carved details of short curly hair with stippling details around the forehead and behind the sculpted ears,painted facial features,brown eyes,black upper eyeliner,single-stroke brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with impish smile,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,shapely legs,painted pink slippers with green edging. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Continental,circa 1810. Value Points: very fine early carved doll in dainty size,most endearing facial expression,deeply combmarked hair,original muslin gown in the Regency style with gilt embroidery.
