21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump
cheeks,amber brown glass paperweight inset
eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes,arched
feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye
corners,closed mouth with defined space between
the outlined lips,pierced ears,brunette human hair
wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden
eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight
wrists,beautifully dressed in red silk frock with
fine lace trim,ruffled lace
bonnet,undergarments,knit stockings,black leather
shoes signed with full figure of a doll.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F. 9 G.
Comments: Gaultier,circa 1880,their earliest
period bebe. Value Points: especially fine depth
of modeling enhanced by rich decoration of
features,original early body and body
finish,superb costume.
