17" (43 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on original shoulder plate with slight ovoid shape to prevent the head from pivoting too sharply to the side,oval-shaped face,heavily-lidded blue glass enamel inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,lightly-feathered brows,aquiline nose with accented nostrils,closed mouth with outlined lips,upturned lip corners,ears pierced into the head,original blonde mohair wig over cork pate,hollowed "blown" molded leather body with gusset-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: circa 1867,the poupee has the1867 deposed neck articulation system of Joliet and the 1867 deposed "blown" leather articulated body of Clement. Value Points: the superb beauty of the poupee with gorgeous portrait-like face,delicately-painted features,original soft blonde mohair wig,and beautiful early costume with embroidered details,undergarments,and leather ankle boots,is enhanced further by two very rare deposed construction systems.
