19" (48 cm.) Paper mache head with solid
dome,lightly-tinted baby hair,small brown glass
eyes,short feathered brows,broad nose,closed mouth
modeled as though open with heart-shaped upper lip
and tiny modeled tongue tip,muslin torso and upper
limbs,paper mache lower arms and legs,glued-on
silk slippers and socks. Condition: generally
excellent,tiny nose touch-up. Comments:
Chinese,circa 1920. Value Points: wonderful
character expression and rare large size of the
early 20th-century play doll,wearing his original
silk costume with rich butterfly and urn embroideries.
