18" (46 cm.) Depicting a man and woman,each with
bisque socket head,brown glass eyes,painted lashes
and brows,open mouth,four porcelain teeth,mohair
wig,five-piece paper mache body. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: 1894 AM 3 Dep made in
Germany. Comments: Marseille,circa 1895. Value
Points: the pair,mounted upon original wooden
bases with rosewood veneer fronts and velvet
floors,are elaborately costumed in the traditional
folklore garb of Macedonia with elaborately
detailed silks and woolens,heavily embroidered and
ornamented with rich jewelry and decorations and
are in pristine condition.
