7" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque
shoulder plate with modeled bosom,blue glass
enamel inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,feathered arched brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with outlined lips,pierced
ears,brunette mohair wig,very-firmly stuffed kid
torso and upper arms and legs,bisque forearms with
expressively-posed fingers,bisque legs from above
the knees includes sculpted heeled shoes.
Condition: generally excellent,left thumb
restored. Marks: 3 depose R.C. Comments: Radiquet
& Cordonnier,deposed the patent for the
"poupee-statuette" in 1880,with the notion of
creating a fashionable mannequin for the
presentation of theatrical costumes; the
model,according to The Encyclopedia of French
Dolls by Theimer "fused the world of the doll and
the world of art". The model was created for a few
years only. Value Points: very rare doll with
statuesque figure that is all-original,included
with the doll is a fine early blue silk poupee
gown with extended train.
