17" (43 cm.) One-piece carved wooden head and torso,heart-shaped face and elongated throat,sculpted bodice rim,bosom,and high-waist,sculpted black hair in deeply comb-marked ridges with detailed carving of curls onto her forehead,and then combed behind her ears into a coiled chignon at the back with a carved decorative comb,and carved garland of flowers,sculpted ears,painted brown eyes,single-stroke brows,closed mouth,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,painted flat green shoes,wearing dainty gown and silk bonnet in the Regency style. Condition: structurally excellent,professional repainting of the face and possibly the hair. Comments: Continental,early 1800s. Value Points: very rare early doll with superb coiffure that is very stylized of its Regency era including sculpted comb with carved decorations,Grecian garland and forehead locks.
