Bisque socket head,deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes,mauve-blushed eye shadow,brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the outlined shaded lips,dimpled chin and philtrum,separately modeled pierced ears,original blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with plump limbs,straight wrists,wearing antique blue silk jester costume with matching jester cap and party rattle. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 13 (head) Nadaud 34 rue de 4 septembre Paris (paper label on body). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1884,the bebe was presented at the Paris toy store of Jeanne Nadaud,notable for its prestige dolls. Value Points: excellent modeling with deeply-defined features,the bebe has the sought-after gentle expression desired on this model,and very lovely bisque,original wig,pate,body,body finish,and rare store label.
