14" (36 cm.) Carved wooden shoulderhead of young man with carved bobbed hair and bangs, enamel eyes, closed mouth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted red stockings and black shoes, original costume comprising silk jacket, burgundy vest, blue homespun pants, and holding wooden mandolin with mother-of-pearl inlay. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, early 1700s, most unusual gazing expression as though involved with his performance, unique hair style.
