Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with very pale
complexion and plumply-modeled face,painted
heavily-lidded shaded-blue downcast eyes,thick
black eyeliner,painted lashes,lightly-feathered
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with accented lips,blonde mohair wig over
cork pate,French kid poupee body with
gusset-jointed hips,kid-over-wooden lower thighs
and lower legs with dowel-jointing at the
knees,bisque forearms to above the elbows with
separately-sculpted fingers,antique-style costume
is included. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: Brevet d'inv. SGDG Maison Huret
Boulevard,22 Paris (and Exhibition Universelle de
Paris 1867 stamp). Comments: Adelaide Huret,circa
1855,the doll was originally presented with its
classic gutta percha body,and then during the
Huret/Lonchambon epoch,circa 1867,was re-fitted
with its current body which bears the 1867 Huret
body stamp. Value Points: very beautiful poupee
with delicate painting of the features.
