27" (69 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and
painted facial features,narrow grey side-glancing
eyes with painted eyedots,fringed lashes at eye
corners,fringed brows,accented nostrils,closed
mouth with wide beaming smile,row of painted
teeth,accent dots on coral lower lip,red mohair
braided wig,muslin torso and elongated legs,felt
arms modeled bent at the elbows. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: Lenci,the doll
appeared in their 1926 catalog as model 269,named
"Sonja" (which is also embroidered on her head
scarf in Russian letters). Value Points:
extraordinary costume in vivid colors with rich
and imaginative designs all around,white cotton
undergarments and hoop,red boots,embroidered felt
turban,yellow felt shawl with embroidered name
"Sonja"; wonderful facial expression.
