24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head,wide-open
expressive blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark
eyeliner,painted long dark lashes,rose-blushed eye
shadow,wide brush-stroked brows with fringed
detail,accented eye corners,shaded
nostrils,slightly-parted lips with row of
porcelain teeth,pierced ears,brunette human hair
in long ringlet curls,composition body with
clockwork mechanism in torso that operates from
attached key at the side,ball-jointing at
shoulders,elbows,and knees,and hinged jointing of
upper legs with kidskin cover,pretty costume in
the antique style is included. When wound,the doll
alternately lifts up and down her legs as though
walking,and cries "mama". Condition: generally
excellent,some finger reglue. Marks: Le Parisien

Jules Steiner,circa 1892,the "Bebe Premier Pas"
was deposed in 1891. Value Points: especially
lovely bisque with exuberant painting of eye

complexion,rare mechanism that functions
well,wearing original chemise.
