24" (61 cm.) One-piece carved wooden head and torso,shapely bosom and waist,oval-shaped face with unusual fullness to cheeks,elongated throat,enamel inset eyes,painted upper and lower lashes,single-stroke brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,aquiline nose,closed mouth with extended center line,cloth upper arms,brunette human hair wig on hand-tied cap,wooden lower arms with individually-carved spatula-shaped hands,dowel-jointing at hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent,original finish,nose paint rubbed. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: English,early 1700s,according to her notes June Ellen Lane acquired the doll from Richard Wright who advised her the doll had previously been in the collection of noted English doll researcher Mary Hillier. Value Points: highly-expressive features,fine larger size,original finish,and wearing original gown.
