Description
10" (25 cm.) w. x 8"h. The wooden three-drawer
chest has original faded-red painted finish with
cream edging,painted cream faux-key-holes,brass
knobs with pull-rings,and a faux-marble green
finished top. Arranged on the chest is a pair of
early gilded metal double-handled urns with wooden
bases,each with an arrangement of early silk
flowers. Excellent condition. Pencil noted on the
bottom is "don de M. Gautier 1916,Cet objet date
de 1750" (gift of Monsieur Gautier in 1916,the
object dates to 1750). Similar 18th century doll
furniture is shown Leo Claretie's early book on
17th and 18th century French dolls and toys. A
very rare piece of early doll furniture in fine
original condition.
