4 1/2" (11 cm.) x 3 1/4". Four miniature oil paintings on board depicting Austrian landscapes and seascape with exquisite detail, in original frames (two with original labels of framer Josef Hirsch on reverse side), each initialed CH in intertwined scroll. Excellent condition. The Viennese painter (1832-1911) Carl Haunold specialized in landscape painting, particularly small-format size and is particularly noted for the superb rendering of sunlight. A rare quartet in matching early frames, mid-1800s.
