22" (56 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-lined
bisque shoulder plate,very full lower cheeks and
defined double chin,small blue glass enamel inset
eyes,dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,lightly-feathered brows,accented nostrils
and eye corners,closed mouth with outlined
lips,pierced ears,brunette mohair wig over cork
pate,French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing
at the hips,knees,and elbows,stitched and
separated fingers,nicely costumed in patterned
silk with embroidered velvet trim and lace
collar,undergarments,leather shoes. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: possibly an early
poupee model by Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1862. Value
Points: very expressive features achieved by very
full lower cheeks,defined double chin,hollows
under the eyes,and slightly-upturned nose tip,and
with fine quality bisque and painting. $3500/4500
