19" (48 cm.) Bisque swivel head with angular face and elongated throat,pointed chin,deeply-intaglio blue eyes with prominent black pupils,thick black upper eyeliner,painted short lashes,feathered arched brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with richly-shaded lips,brunette mohair wig,shapely wooden lady body with spring-jointing,articulation at shoulders,elbows,wrists,hips,knees and swivel waist,stylistic elongated limbs to accommodate fashions of the era,antique beaded chiffon dress. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Huret I (incised back of head) Huret Rue de Boetie (incised back of torso). Comments: Maison Huret,under the ownership of Elisa Prevost,circa 1915,her fashion dolls were created during the art doll movement in France. A set of the Huret dolls by Elisa Prevost are at the Musee des Arts Decoratif in Paris. Value Points: an especially appealing example of the rare model with wonderfully expressive eyes,excellent bisque and painting,original fully-articulated body allowing intricate posing,and an important doll in French doll chronology.
