Description
19" (48 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulder plate,glass enamel inset eyes with
rare grey iris and violet/blue iris rim known as
"tri-color" eyes,painted lashes,feathered
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with hint of smile,accented pale lips,ears
pierced into head,original blonde mohair wig over
cork pate,French kid poupee body with square-cut
collarette,gusset-jointing at hips and
knees,wooden arms and hands with dowel-jointing at
shoulders,elbows and wrists,included is antique
costume. Condition: generally excellent,right
thumb reglued. Marks: H (head and shoulders).
Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1867,from his
earliest letter series poupees,the
slightly-smiling model preceded his deposed
smiling poupee. Value Points: rare model with
lovely bisque and painting,original signed head
and shoulders,original Bru body with rare wooden arms.
