20" (51 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with very
slender face of adult woman,her head modeled in
uptilted pose,elongated slender throat,very
angular features,blue glass sleep
eyes,heavily-modeled eyelids,painted lower
lashes,brush-stroked brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with center accent
line,blonde mohair wig in upswept style over
plaster pate,kid body with dart-shaped
bosom,pin-jointed limbs,bisque forearms,nicely
costumed in the Edwardian style,antique
undergarments and shoes. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 172 7. Comments: Kestner,circa
1910,the doll was designed by the American
illustrator,Charles Dana Gibson,after his famous
drawings of the "nose in the air" American
socialite of the early 1900s,and is one of the few
German dolls whose designer is known. Value
