Description
20" (51 cm.) Standing upon a velvet-covered base
is a bisque-head doll with large amber brown glass
paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lush
lashes,brush-stroked and multi-feathered
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with shaded
lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork
pate,French carton torso and legs,wire upper
arms,bisque forearms. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 4
(head) (remnants of original paper tune label on
under-base). Comments: Leopold Lambert,circa
1892,with commissioned head from Jumeau; when
wound the doll turns her head from side to
side,nods,and alternately moves the tray and tea
pot as though pouring tea; the model was marketed
as the Russian Tea Server. Value Points: the doll
wears her factory-original silk costume with silk
and metallic fringe trim,pearl ornaments,elaborate
headdress,and carries wooden tea tray and tea pot.
