22" (56 cm.) Solid-domed paper mache shoulder head with oval-shaped face,elongated throat,cut slit at head dome for insertion of wig,painted upper-glancing blue eyes,black upper eyeliner,single-stroke brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth,pink kid poupee body with shapely torso and unjointed legs,leather arms with stitch-jointing at shoulders,wooden hands,wearing antique red woolen skirt with black lace and velvet trim,blouse,black velvet laced vest,undergarments,wooden-soled shoes with leather uppers,cross,and woven "A Deux Bonjours" bonnet. Condition: generally excellent,some light craquelure and touch-up on shoulder plate. Comments: French,circa 1840. Value Points: very beautiful face with fine lustrous patina,original painting,original body and fine antique costume.
