Description
17" (43 cm.) Solid domed composition socket head
with deeply sculpted facial features portraying a
wide-eyed young boy,painted brown eyes in
side-glancing expression,lightly-feathered
brows,aquiline nose with rounded tip,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with well-defined
lips,sculpted ears,brunette mohair wig,composition
and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: K I 6 (mark partly
illegible,impressed on head). Comments: Marion
Kaulitz,circa 1908. The doll was exhibited in the
Munich Art Doll exhibition of that year; the only
rule for exhibition was that the dolls must "look
like child in the street". The dolls of Marion
Kaulitz were hands-down favorites at the
exhibition. Value Points: wonderful early example
of Kaulitz doll with superb sculpting,original
finish,original body and body finish,the doll
wears its original Danish Boy Scout uniform with
emblems and accessories.
