15" (38 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult lady with sculpted oval face and elongated throat,sculpted light brown hair,heavily-lidded downcast eyes,painted brows,aquiline nose with accent dots,closed mouth,defined throat hollow,muslin stitch-jointed body,porcelain lower arms with expressive fingers,painted shoe ribbons,wearing antique silk gown. Condition: generally excellent,one finger tip chipped. Comments: from the series of artistic porcelain dolls presented at the Bavarian Arts and Crafts Institute,early 20th century,inspired by famous master sculptures or paintings of the Renaissance era. Value Points: superb artistry both in sculpture and painting of features and complexion on the rare doll.
