Description
22" (56 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult lady
with slender oval face and elongated throat,black
sculpted hair artfully drawn away from her face
and decorated at the crown with an ornamental
comb,with looped curls forming a coronet and
extending into arranged curls at the back with a
single long curl onto her nape,painted pale blue
eyes,red and black upper eyeliner,one-stroke
brows,closed mouth,sculpted pierced ears,early
commercial kid body,nicely costumed in burgundy
taffeta with black velvet and lace trim.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Germany,circa 1870. Value Points: the very rare
coiffure is enhanced by decorative comb,artistic
feathering detail of hair around the forehead edge.
