17" (43 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with slender
facial shape,elongated throat,black sculpted hair
drawn away from her face in loose waves,with a
cluster of curls at the crown and the back hair
captured in a sculpted snood,deeply-sculpted eye
sockets with heavy upper lids,blue upper-glancing
painted eyes,red and black upper
eyeliner,single-stroke brows,closed mouth with
center accent line,muslin stitch-jointed
body,porcelain hands and lower legs,nicely
costumed in coral gown of antique silk,with
antique undergarments and black velvet jacket with
bead and fringe design. Condition: generally
excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1870. Value
Points: superb sculpting of heavily-lidded eyes
lending a dreamy expression,rare coiffure.
