Description
13" (33 cm.) Solid domed porcelain shoulder head
of adult lady with very angular face leaning to
the right,elongated throat,modeled
bosom,heavily-lidded painted grey eyes,black upper
eyeliner,single-stroke brows,aquiline nose,closed
mouth,brunette mohair wig,French kid poupee body.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments: possibly
one of the models created by the Bavarian
Association of Arts and Crafts in the early 20th
century; the dolls were inspired by historical
sculptures and paintings and were produced in very
limited numbers in Nymphenburg at Koniglich
Bayerische Porzellan-Manufaktur. Value Points:
rare model with superb sculpted features and
painting,fine antique body with very fine early
rose silk costume.
