21" (53 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of adult lady
with oval-shaped face and slightly-elongated
throat,brown glass sleep eyes,short painted
lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed
mouth with outlined lips,extended center line on
lips,brunette human hair wig in coiled braids,kid
pin-jointed body with bisque forearms,wearing fine
antique dress,undergarments,shoes,stockings,and
wonderful woven bonnet. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 215 3 B&D Ltd. Comments: Bawo
and Dotter,the prestige New York import firm
commissioned a series of art character dolls from
their German porcelain firms in 1910; the series
appears to have been limited to 3 or 4 models only
and to have been made for a very short time. Value
Points: the rarity of the model is accentuated by
her most beautiful expression and bisque.
