articulation allowing the doll to nod and tilt
head side to side as well as swivel,cobalt blue
glass eyes,narrow eye sockets,black
eyeliner,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed
mouth with accented lips,ears pierced directly
into head,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,kid
poupee body with shapely torso,gusset-jointing at
hips and knees,kid-over-wooden upper arms,bisque
forearms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks:
0. Comments: attributed to Alexandre Dehors,circa
1867,who deposed the charming head articulation
with this description,"These new movements make
available to the dolls either a modest sense of
superiority,as if to say,'Go ahead,Huret doll,see
if you can do the same' or a more aggressive sense
of superiority,along the lines of a firmly
declared 'Don't you dare,I'm patented'." Value
Points: charming petite size with beautiful bisque
hands and face,rare neck articulation,original
antique costume that pleasingly complements her
cobalt blue eyes.
