19" (48 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head with flat-cut
neck socket on bisque shoulder plate,very plump
facial features,neck articulation allowing
realistic 90 degree swivel,cobalt blue glass inset
eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes,feathered
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with
primly-set accented lips,unpierced ears,pale
blonde lambswool wig,cork pate,softly-stuffed
Rohmer kid poupee body with pull-strings in torso
for sitting,kid over-wooden upper
arms,ball-jointed knees,bisque lower arms and legs
with individually sculpted or defined fingers and
toes. Condition: generally excellent,professional
repair to right middle finger. Marks: (Rohmer
stamp on torso). Comments: Leontine Rohmer,circa
1860,the poupee evidences distinctive brevete
features of Rohmer,including the realistic neck
articulation and body style. Value Points: superb
model of the rare early bisque poupee with
wonderful facial expression enhanced by very
deeply modeled features,very fine original body
with bisque limbs,and wearing fine original
costume comprising black velvet fitted jacket with
bead trim,black taffeta skirt,and matching
bonnet,with watch and fob. The doll has a blue
ribbon award from 1995 UFDC national convention
