sleep eyes,painted curly lashes,brush-stroked
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with very full accented lips,kid
gusset-jointed body with bisque
forearms,nicely-costumed in antique white-wear and
undergarments. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: 19c24 L.A.&S. NY Germany 50 982/2.
Comments: commissioned by the New York import firm
of Amberg,circa 1924,portrait doll of the 1920
silent film child star,Baby Peggy Montgomery; a
socket head version of the doll with original
costume appears as lot #294 in this catalog. Value
Points: rare model with finest quality of bisque
and modeling,the face closely resembles the actual
child star.
