Solid domed composition or paper mache sculpted socket head with deeply-defined facial features,defined eye sockets with painted dark blue eyes,incised upper eyeliner,lightly-painted brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with full lips,slightly-upturned lip corners,well-sculpted ears,brunette mohair wig in coiled braids,composition and wooden ball-jointed body,well-costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Marion Kaulitz,circa 1909 who is credited with inspiring the German art character reform movement of that era,insisting that dolls should represent the faces of real children. Value Points: an exceptional model of doll from the avidly-sought artist whose dolls are so rare to find,this example with very expressive and beautifully-painted features,with original near mint body,wig,and wonderful antique costume.
