Description
11" (28 cm.) Each has paper mache head with sculpted blonde hair,painted facial features,attached to wooden torso covered with gesso-painting of the shoulder plate to appear as though one with the head,pin and dowel jointing of shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,metal hands and painted blue boots. Condition: generally excellent,original finish,one with paint wear on shoulders and chek rubs. Comments: Mason and Taylor,Springfield Vermont (dressed doll) and Frank Martin,Springfield Vermont (undressed),circa 1880. Value Points: rare to find American dolls,the Mason and Taylor example is in very fine original condition with original costume.
