Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome,elongated facial shape with very full lower cheeks and chin,blue glass inset eyes with rich spiral threading,dark eyeliner,painted curly lashes,rose-blushed eye shadow,brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips,pierced ears,brunette hand-tied human hair wig,early composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists,lovely dress in the antique style,antique undergarments and shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 117 12. Comments: Sonneberg,circa 1885,the doll closely resembles the wistful Bebe Triste by Jumeau and was created to compete with that French market. Value Points: very beautiful wide-eyed wistful child with closed mouth,lovely bisque,original body and body finish.
