17" (45 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulder plate,cobalt blue glass enamel
inset eyes,dark eyeliner,lightly-feathered lashes
and brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with pale accented lips,pierced ears,blonde
mohair wig over cork pate,French kid-over-wooden
shapely torso and upper arms and
legs,dowel-jointing at hips,knees and
shoulders,wooden lower legs,bisque arms to above
the elbows with curled fingers,some costume
elements are included. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: A La Poupee de Nuremberg 21 Rue
de Choiseul Lavallee-Peronne...Paris (paper label
on torso). Comments: the prestigious Parisian doll
shop which was described in La Poupee Modele of
1863 as "the doll maker of exquisite taste",was
owned by Madame Lavallee-Peronne who was
significant in promoting one classic 45 cm. size
poupee for which costumes,patterns,accessories and
furniture could be developed. She named her doll
"Lily". Value Points: rare and desirable doll.
This example especially beautiful with very clean
and sturdy original labeled body.
