15" (38 cm.) Wax sculpted head of adult man with sculpted grey flowing hair and beard,painted blue upper glancing eyes,painted thickly-fringed brows and moustache,closed mouth,sewn-on costume to armature body,composition hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: maker and age unknown,the doll was acquired by June Ellen Lane in 1985 as a portrait of William Shakespeare. Value Points: very artistic doll with superbly-rendered features,original costume,blue ribbon award from 1985 UFDC convention in Atlanta.
