18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulder plate,very full lower cheeks,small
almond-shaped cobalt blue glass enamel inset
eyes,dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,lightly-feathered brows,accented nostrils
and eye corners,closed mouth with outlined
lips,ears pierced into head,blonde mohair wig in
very elaborate original coiffure,kid poupee body
with gusset-jointing at elbows,hips and
knees,stitched and separated fingers. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: (partly legible green
torso stamp with name Coutin and Paris street
address). Comments: circa 1867,the doll was
presented at a luxury Parisian doll boutique of
Madame Coutin. Value Points: wonderfully
expressive and rare face with unusual smaller
eyes,rounded nose and uptilted lip corners,superb
original coiffure,very sturdy original body with
shop label,and fine original costume along with
watch,fob,earrings,and wonderful leather shoes
