17" (43 cm.) Richly pink-tinted porcelain shoulder
head depicting an adult lady,slender oval face and
elongated throat,slightly-modeled bosom,un-tinted
and un-glazed solid dome with cut slit at the
crown for wig placement,heavily molded eyelids
with red and black upper eyeliner,single-stroke
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with center
accent line,early braided human hair
wig,all-leather antique body with stitch-jointing
and stitched and separated fingers,wearing
changeable-silk taffeta gown,undergarments,leather
shoes,bonnet. Condition: generally excellent.
Comments: Germany,circa 1870. Value Points: rare
slit dome construction for wig placement,very
beautiful sculpting of features with rich
complexion and patina. June Ellen Lane acquired
the doll from the Margaret Hartshorn collection
