9" (23 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with oval-shaped face,elongated throat,black sculpted
hair in center-part drawn around the sides of her face and captured in an elaborately draped
braided chignon,painted blue downcast eyes,single stroke brows,black upper eyeliner,closed
mouth,slender kid body,wooden lower limbs,painted grey boots. Condition: generally
excellent,original painted with some typical rubs on face. Comments: Germany,circa 1850. Value
Points: rare coiffure,the lady wears her original costume comprising muslin gown with dainty
self-piping,homespun undergarments with stitch-shaped diamond point edging.
