Description
10" (25 cm.) Terra cotta shoulder head turned almost at right angles with the body,sculpted hair
in deeply-defined tousled brown curls,brown enamel eyes,painted eyeliner,brows,and lips of
closed mouth,blushed details,hemp-wrapped body with terra cotta hands and bare feet,very
expressive fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neopolitan,early 19th century,the
angel figures were costumed with flowing wire-edged fabric pieces that allowed the figures to
be posed as though flying when placed in a scene. Value Points: diminutive model has superb
detail of sculpting and fine original painted finish,original costume.
