14" (36 cm.) Carved wooden figure depicting an adult man with deeply-sculpted hair,moustache
and long beard in brown/grey colors,fully-sculpted ears,brown enamel inset eyes,feathered
brows,painted lashes,closed mouth with accented lips,one-piece head,torso and legs,dowel-
jointed shoulders and elbows,nicely costumed priest in silks and lace. Condition: generally
excellent,hidden repair at the neck. Comments: Spanish Santos figure,early 19th century. Value
Points: superb facial modeling and sculpting of hair and beard,fine original complexion with
waxed luminous finish,exquisite original painting.
