Description
13" (33 cm.) Reclining upon its original wooden plinth is a carved ivory figure of a naked
woman,having beautifully-defined sculpting of facial features,hair and fingers,her head resting
on her right hand with sculpted bent right elbow,and her legs posed with one ankle upheld. The
carving details include sculpted bracelets on each wrist,earrings,and an elaborate necklace,and
the carving extends around the back to feature a coiled chignon captured with a carved hair
ornament. Excellent condition. Chinese,early 19th century,outstanding detail of sculpting and
presence.
