10" (25 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,very plump cheeks and
chin,blue glass enamel inset eyes with darker blue outer rims,dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,feathered brows,rose blushed eye shadow,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,kid bebe body with
square-cut collarette,bisque lower arms and hands,gusset-jointing. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 6/0 (head and shoulder) Bebe Brevete SGDG Paris (paper label on torso).
Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1878,his first model bebe with original body based upon
his 1878 deposed patent. Value Points: very rare and endearing petite bebe is virtually never
found,this example has perfect sturdy body,perfect bisque hands,flawless head and
shoulderplate with exquisite painting and sculpting,especially notable on this tiny
model,lovely antique costume including frock,undergarments,ruffled bonnet,rose knit
stockings,leather shoes marked B (script in oval) on one (other with missing sole).
