Description
20" (51 cm.) Standing upon a velvet-covered platform is a bisque head bebe with blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau BTE SGDG 4 (head). Comments: Leopold Lambert, circa 1890, the bebe is holding a little bisque doll in right hand and opera glasses in the other, and when wound, music plays and she alternately lifts each beloved toy, which turning her head to gaze at each in turn. Value Points: beautiful wide-eyed bebe is wearing lovely lace costume and bonnet, and functions well.
