21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head portraying an adult man with highly-defined characterization around the eyes and cheek planes,brown glass inset eyes,painted lower lashes,slightly- modeled brush-stroked brows with decorative glaze,accented nostrils of aquiline nose,closed mouth with firmly set lips,center accent line,pale blonde wig with long braid in periwig style,French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1303 S&H 8 (head) Bebe Le Parisien Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Simon and Halbig,circa 1900,from their 1300 art character series. The model was adapted for several variations because of its highly-characterized adult expression; three other variations are shown in this book: #324 (Native American),#322 (black complexion),and #323 (mulatto complexion).
