16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head with sculpted short light-brown sculpted hair with deeply- sculpted curls captured by a pink modeled ribbon bow at her crown,partly-sculpted ears,very deep intaglio-sculpted eyes with blue side-glancing painted eyes,prominent black pupils,white eye dots,brown and incised upper eyeliner,accented nostrils,sculpted-closed mouth posed as though with lips open and "singing" merrily,composition and wooden ball- jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing,wearing antique rose crepe de chine dress with lace detail,undergarments,stockings,shoes,and carrying little basket. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 7764 Heubach (sunburst) Germany 6. Comments: Gebruder Heubach,circa 1912,the model is known as "the singer" in reference to its mouth expression. Value Points: unusually large size of this model with extraordinary sculpting of hair,rare pink bow,facial modeling is so fine as to appear as though individually sculpted with details of impressed dimples,eye hollows,plump chin.
