28" (71 cm.) Bisque socket head with slender elongated facial modeling of lady,blue glass "flirty" eyes in deeply-set sockets with original glass-rod flirty eye mechanism particular to this model,dark eyeliner,heavily-modeled eyelids,painted curly lashes,slightly-modeled brush-stroked brows with feathered details,accented eye corners and nostrils,closed mouth modeled as though open in a dimpled smiling expression,row of painted teeth,well-modeled unpierced ears,blonde mohair extended-length wig,composition and wooden ball-jointed body,wearing superb antique costume with undergarments,kidskin shoes,brooch with watch,silk purse with embroidered flowers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1388 Germany Simon & Halbig S&H 12. Comments: Simon and Halbig,circa 1910. Value Points: superb model with extraordinary quality of sculpting and quality of bisque,this largest size is virtually not known to exist. Sculpting includes triple-impressed dimples at lip corners,extra indentations at eye corners to enhance the come-hither look achieved by heavy eyelids,and well-defined chin. The doll has her original flirty eye arrangement that functions well,fabulous waist-length wig,and overall outstanding presentation.
